Well, what can I say? It’s finally summer vacation! And it still doesn’t feel like it really. I keep on thinking “what do I have to do for school?“ and then I realize: “nothing“. But I have bigger plans for this summer. I have a week more here at home and I’m going to seriously clean my room. I want to take everything out and put it on my balcony today, so that I can wash out all my shelves and vacuum. This evening I’ll be going to my dad’s and I’ll clean that room on Monday. When I come back here on Tuesday I’ll continue with my room, taking out ALL my clothes (notice the emphasis on “all“: It’s a lot!). Then I’ll organize my clothes and see what still fits me. I put all the clothes that don’t fit me into boxes, so that I can still keep them, but I’m starting to get better at giving them away/selling them. I’ll just keep the things I really care about. Tuesday afternoon I have dance classes, so I’ll see how much I’ll be able to do of the clothes. On Wednesday and Thursday I’ll continue with my room, trying to finish it up. Then before I leave, I’ll take all my school things from the past three years and organize them, so that I can take them to Sweden and study some over summer. Isn’t that great? Well I’ll see… maybe I’ll just do some of it. I want to have a list of all the things that we’ve done so far. So then in between my great plan I want to meet up with some friends too!
Then next Saturday, two friends of mine are coming along to Sweden. We are taking a night bus, but let’s see how much night comes out for the other passengers. My friends will stay with me for a little more than a week and I’ll stay for three weeks. Then I come back and fly to New York where I see some more family. The rest of my summer is sort of hazy, I’ll have to plan that sometime.
Yesterday we had our street party-thing. My neighbor and I organized the whole thing. It was sooo much work, but it ended up working really well. First we were a little bit disappointed because our planning didn’t work out, since most people came a little later, but after a while it ended up paying off and we had a lot of fun! I think I’ll organize the party next year too, but maybe with a little bit more help from other people. I made three cakes yesterday. Two of them were prizes and the other one was for the buffet. It was amazing! I put two “kladdkakor“ on top of each other and in between them I put whip cream with strawberries. I covered the whole cake with chocolate butter cream and then decorated it with more butter cream and strawberries. It must have been a calorie bomb, but it tasted great. The next time I make one, I’ll take pictures and put them up here.
Before I get to long, I will stop writing and maybe just continue this a little later.
